Lunar map from Reagan era will solve criminal case (Author using RPG gaming tools)

"Attention personal of International Lunar Police Force District House Thirteen, your boss says that the following is a moon map from the 1990s, possibly Dragon Magazine."

Here is a crime scene photo . . . thanks Homer.

"Win a date with Homer Milton Dante, the cuddliest astromarine on the moon by solving what this moon map originally looked like before some gamer, a RPGer cut it apart."

Looks like it was originally four printed pages . . . if it was a magazine . . . fair bet.

Whether it was Dragon is the question. Between the comic book store, later that Barnes and Noble's newsstand, I brought a lot of non-D&D (Dragons and Dungeons) magazines.

Science fiction.

Some Doctor Who  related, so this could be from that strange world.

Or not from a legit press at all, but some artifact from the Small Press/ Amateur Press world. It could be something from one of those old gaming APAs (Amateur Press Associations). But given the print quality, I am guessing legitimate "for profit" magazine.

It's a fun place to visit--the work area.

Highways, dirt walls, and buildings.

There are a few dead ends here and there.

And in no way does one block look just like another.

I may or may not do better photos--or scans--later. Might find the original source.

f it's Dragon Magazine, then it's preserved online in pdf. Somewhere. I saw a site.

But I am a hoarder . . . according to Khari . . . not a professional author hanging onto a library . . . either way, the original issue is probably still somewhere on a shelf/in a box.

I pulled this out of a box of old photos from the 1990s; good times, still talking to family.

Anyways in my Star Cops fiction that I am doing, there are two settings. One is the traditional lunar landscape, grey rocks, low gravity, no air . . . like this map.

Yeah, I am using this for inspiration . . . like random location dice.

The other setting is Egypt Town.

Egypt Town has a little bit of every sci fi nightmare in it.

Please bear in mind that my science fiction universe started in 1978, or so. It has been wiped out of existence about fifty times or so . . . for various reasons. Restarts, so in places, it can be complicated because I have been secretly working on it since James Bond. Yeah, a drive-in movie. The Spy Who Loved Me. Science fiction with spies.

Then I moved to Sagebrush, Small Town America, during the Ronald Reagan era.

It was being in the Village.

With no fun episodes.

Sorry.

Well, there were the annual Fourth of July fireworks and rodeo. I liked that. Still a fan.

But it made aware of how dangerous a small population could be . . . a moon population could be a horror.

My mother, who I loved dearly, just like me, had some form of bipolar.

Not necessarily the fun type of person to find in charge of Potterville.

My New Egyptian Space Empire "Earth" Village . . . somewhere on the Nile. Where the Seven Queens vacation. A place that Homer Milton Dante was a sheriff of. Classified.

Today, Homer on the moon . . . PTSD . . . and out of his mind.

Good one, boss--did you hear the latest crime report?

"In other news, as the darkness drives us nuts, we are getting reports of werewolves. Yes, that is right--several people have called in seeing a big half wolf-half man digging though trash cans. I think that it is Homer. Being Jewish like he is, he's too Egyptian to pay food."

"That's why if you win the date with your boss, you have to pay for the pizza yourself."

"The Coptic bastard is cheap. We will now sing the song of the Cheap Bastard, you know the words, I am down to my last five bucks--"

"Constable Echo Sweet Water, what the sam hell are you doing!?"

"Gotta go everyone! Remember--solve a puzzle--win a date. Mister Cuddles!"
